As is true many organizations and companies, Doomsday Fleers, Inc., was formed as a response to recognizing a lack. We wanted to create experiences that felt deeply personal, that would be resonant for audiences of many backgrounds.
Fleer started as a joke.
One who would flee from any situation is regularly a refugee, a fugitive, a runaway. What if it were also one who ran swiftly? A fleer. We have escaped all doomsdays thus far, whether runaways or not. However, fleer is but an archaic way of referring to a look of derision, a word of mockery.
We have seen the world end countless times. It continues to end. We at Doomsday Fleers, Inc., believe that there is a utility to fleeing and fleering, and building community and empathy with those we have lost connection to when we lost an underground.
